Monferrato cooking in the old town of Casale: raw beef all'albese, bollito carved in the dining room from the trolley, bagna cauda, fresh pasta and home-made desserts.
One family, one kitchen
Eighty years ago Luigi Amarotto, Piero's father, opened his first pastry oven: that is where the family's tradition, passion and trade began. Today Piero Amarotto and his family welcome guests on Via Cavour, with strictly seasonal cooking made to order from local produce.
Fresh pasta and desserts are made in house, by hand. In 2022 his story became a book: "Piero Amarotto. Il gusto per la vita, una vita per il gusto" by Roberto Tentoni.

Casale's old town is on the doorstep: the Cathedral of Sant'Evasio, the Renaissance synagogue, arcaded streets and cafes selling the town's krumiri biscuits. A natural stop for a long Piedmontese lunch between sights.
